West Coast of Scotland Anchorages
These pages give a personal view of selected anchorages on the West coast of Scotland, an area that I have sailed for more than thirty years. The selection is not exhaustive, and will continue to grow as time permits. Some of the descriptions may contain information about how to approach the anchorage, such as dangers or transits, but in no way are these intended to replace a good set of appropriate Admiralty charts and sailing directions, such as the excellent publications by the Clyde Cruising Club (CCC) and Imray (Martin Lawrence), both of which I can recommend. Obviously, depending on the wind direction, not all anchorages are suitable all of the time.
